Does the vr6 obd2 engine loom fit the obd1 engine . ? ? ?

I think they are different mate, im converting my engine from obd1 to obd2 and the engine loom needs replacing to so i have been told

the plugs and ecus won't go with each other for a start and secondly there are thinks on the obd2 engine that aren't on the 1 thus not on the loom like the cam sensor
