I need to take my trim off to have a look at mine as Im having some problems with it. I gave it a quick attempt but didnt have much joy, it felt like I was going to snap something. Do you have a guide or can you quickly explain the best way to take the trim off? Cheers.

There is a screw in each handle that needs to be removed then I use a trim removal tool around the edges to try & loosen some clips. Then it's just grab hold of it & pull! It does take a fair bit of force to remove it

I saw and removed the screws but was struggling to get the trim off, felt like it was being held in by another screw that I couldn't see but I guess not.

If in doubt apply more force :D

but not too much...the clips on the mk5 are crap.  and most are now integrated into the actual trim rather than clip on trim and then clip on body.

And if updating get a later spec one ala 2008 onwards
