just a though as it was done going over a speed bump cant you get insurance to pay you out?

I also wondered about insurance..

Would only think you can claim if the car is standard ie not lowered??
Actually I'm talking rubbish I don't know about insurance but if it was "not lowered" you could get the council to pay  :wink:

Id be pushing for the garage who fitted the cambelt to stump up the cash. If they didnt replace the bolts then they are the ones at fault

Problem is, I got the cambelt/water pump done as part of the deal when I got the car and I didn't request the bolts to b dne cuz I didnt know they had too plus thats going to be hard to prove. As for claiming on insurence I dnt think I can because there wasn't an accident and I'd indefensible I'd have to pay an excess anyway. And I dnt think the council is at fault ether because it's not there speed bump that caused it as it was lets face it broken anyway if anything I need to thank the council for it happening the way it did. What if I was on the motorway or something? :(
