Cheapest places for parts?
« on: 02 September 2012, 20:47 »
Where do you guys buy your stuff from?

I'm after some new rear discs for my mk4 tdi 110, i found a set of solid rear brembos on ebay with pads for £46 and the seller has really good feedback. I'm just wondering if there any proper sites/shops I should try for parts first?

Thanks.

Chexk out carparts4less too. Its basically ecp but under a different name as its all online, and often cheaper than ecp even with the discount applied.
Classic Green Corrado VR6 Storm | Jetex Cat back | BMC CDA | VT mounts | Bilstein B12 | 288mm front brakes | Mk4 rear brakes | Goodridge braided hoses | BBS RX228s | Shortshifter | Lupo wipers | Uprated headlight loom | All red rears | Refreshed leather | Fresh paint |

I wouldn't use carparts4less now that ECP have 25% off. The prices are comparable, and you have the advantage of picking up in store. The ability to go to a real shop, with a real person behind the counter is worth he extra couple of quid.

For brakes, I tended to use brakes international (before ECP discount). Nice online catalogue and inteface, and reasonable prices.

Thanks for the replies.

Eurocar parts seems really good, but their discs and pads are still coming to more than the Brembo discs and comline pads.

Am I missing something? I'm just presumed Brembo would be better though I don't know much about brakes!

To be fair, I'd try to confirm what the hell you'll be getting. As the ad reads.

Quote
HERE YOU ARE BUYING:
2 x REAR GENUINE BREMBO BRAKE DISCS ( VENTED 280MM DIAMETER )
1 x FULL SET OF REAR AXLE BRAKE PADS (COMLINE)

THIS IS A COMPLETE BRAKE PACKAGE TO REPLACE THE FRONT AXLE

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONFIRM DISC SIZES AND DIMENSIONS BEFORE PURCHASING THIS LISTING DISCS SIZE IS 232MM SOLID

Probably a poor copypasta advert from his many other ones.
