need some light shed on these photos plz

so far ive had no joy with getting my 1983 1.8 gti running right after changing all electrical items eg, plugs and leads ect im now tackling the fuel side but stil have some issues im in need of help with 1) is i seem to be a vacuum pipe missing (see pic)
. 2) some idiot seems to have wired my fuel pump up to constat live without a relay but im unsure of if its been wired into the fuelpump relay slots or not (see pics).
 and i have a plug under the bonnet that doesnt seem to go anywhere so im unsure if its supposed to be usedor not (see pics).
 if any could help it would be a grate help as this is my first mk1 gti so im unsure where things are sposed to go

I think that 3rd pic is of the reverse switch plug, sorry can't help with the other 2

1)  Are you referring to the small bit pointing left that's up against the cam cover breather?... Is it not capped off?.. I have a slightly different head setup and cover to you so may not be the same but will have a look at mine when home later.

2)  Are there two points bridged across where the relay should be? where is that blue wire going to? I take it when you say constant live you mean when the ignition is on.  Either way this is not safe and needs resolving as a priority. Let me know what you find and I'll try to be more helpful

3)  As already said, there is a socket for that on the gearbox casing.

hi 1) i didnt even notice the 1 on the cam cover breather  its the small pipe to the left of that on the white and black plastic thing lol it has 1 small braded vacuum hose coming from it and looks like another should b coming from it but i dont know where its sposed to go
2) yes the fuel pump runs constantly as its wired in the pic, if i unplug it the pump doesnt pump and the car doesnt run. is this where the fuel pump relay should go? i take it it is
3) im going round tonight to check the gearbox for the plug

ah yes I see, yes there should be something on that, I will check where mine goes when I get home tonight.

As far as the fuel pump relay goes I am confused as to what's going on.  The relay numbered as "2" is for your fuel pump and is present, that blue wire is where the Eco light MPG relay should be...

ahh great looks like im gunna have fun sorting the wireing out then  , i wish people would take the time to fix things properly insted of bodging it with a bit of shoddy wireing cuz now ive got another job to do grrrrr, rant over lol

yeh thats some wireing task  hope mine doesnt turn out to b anything like that lol, im about 2 miles from santa pod i would cross ur palm with beer tokens if it gets to that stage but im hoping shouting and swearing at it is gunna start working soon
