squeeeeeeeeeeling fan belt!!

Crow bar  under the alternator and a second person tightening it all up. Job done but it will reduce the life span of the alternator

thanks for the replys, I have not long replaced the water pump so dont want to tighten the belt to excess as the bearings will wear out! I have tried the wd40 trick also which stops the squeel for a short time but does not stop the belt slipping.

Its getting worse again as the weather is getting wet and colder and the use of lights makes it squeel more!!!!
might try the candle wax on it just now whilst looking out for a crankshaft pulley.
