Anyone got any links for a how to on how to replace this? Can't find anything at the mo and it's frustrating me having a useless paperweight lol

You'll have to replace the whole unit it's attached too, there is a flex cable for the mic itself but you'd risk damaging the whole board and cabled etc it will require a complete strip down of the phone! probably best sent off for repair, unless you're confident you can repair it.

PS: who is your contract with? Voda give a 24 month warranty on all phones, you might want to check your mobile company do/don't do the same.

Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

I pulled it all apart last night, seems easy lol

It's under warranty but I can't be bothered re-installing Gingerbread then losing the phone for a week or so. Just ordered the right bit, £6 delivered

Cheers

dammit, there's a bit more to getting the mic out that I first thought.

Just doing a backup of everything now, looks like it's back to stock ROM to send off for repair
