1.8t Downpipe Sports cat and non res cat back.
« on: 28 August 2012, 18:48 »
looking to upgrade to a stainless steel exhaust system , would obviously love a straight turbo back decat exhaust but cant be bothered with the hassle of changing it every time i need an mot.

does anyone know if the system with a sports cat would pass the emissions test?.

dont want to fork out £850 to find out it doesnt  :lipsrsealed:

Far as i'm aware it should do! My old s13 had a sports cat and went through no problem, just make sure you warm it up nicely before you get there  or warm it up on the way

I have a full system from Longlife and their 200 cell sports cat and it was fine for MOT, if you are getting a custom one they normally give you the option of quiet, mid and full sport
I have mid on mine and its pretty loud, full sport I think my ears would be bleeding so make sure you listen to the differences before you get one
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Must have been a friendly MOT man as your car would fail the emissions test without the cat.

Year has nothing to do with it unless its pre '92

+1 and if I remember correctly the police give you a hefty fine if they catch you running without a cat
