mk4 golf gto 2.0 8v, engine swap help and advice please

hi all newbe here, just bought my first golf, its a 2000 reg 3dr gti 2.0 8v, problem is i want more poke and am thinking about an engine transplant to the 1.8 20v turbo motor, just wondering which engine code is the best to go for and what would be the major problems in dion so, all help appreciated,

honeslty will be alot easyer to sell the current car and buy a 1.8t mk4 as there quite cheap now! but id go for agu with a k03s turbo  if i was doing a engine swap

thanks for the reply, problem is car cot me 300 quid to buy, stands me at 800 tax an motd, just been offered what i think is an aum engine from an audi a3, with everyting including box ecu shafts loom turbo manifold,(everything) for 300 quid, am a mechanic and will be doing the work myself to save a few quid, just looking for the best engine code to go for, how bout r32 engine or vr6 i think it is?,
not stuck on it being a 20vt just something with more power than the 115 bhp 8v i have now

To do a 1.8t swap you really need a doner car for all the parts you need as so much is different.
