« on: 28 August 2012, 09:52 »
Hi.

I'm looking to get my non pd TDI 110 remapped, anyone know a reputable place in Wales, preferably West?

A guy on here Rhyso is based in South Wales mate,
The only problem with yours is the ecu needs takin out to be benched mapped I believe but shouldnt be differcult to get done atall.

Nick up in Rtech told me how he mapped these and its crazy but worth it. Im sure you can upgrade the injectors and something else and these 110's hit 160bhp+ and a load of torque
1.6-1.8t AGU K03s, Forge actuator, Forge 007p, turbo back exhuast, Ths front mount, Catch can, 5 piece silicone boost pipes and creation sports tip. Stage 2 atm 232bhp 270lbs. Waiting for custom mapping :-)

Hi.

Yeah I looked into the injectors, you can pick them up pretty cheap but the work changing them looked like too much hassle, then I'd need a custom map. The car only cost me £500 so I'm not looking to throw much into it. Most places seem to quote 143-148bhp and pretty nice torque figures just with a remap and that'll do me as i drove a PD150 the other week and loved it.

I'd just like somewhere localish to take it.

Any idea how much he charges? Or how much Rtech charge? I have emailed them but no reply.

Sadly as yours is an ECU out jobby I can't help you out

It it was a 2000 onwards model then it wouldn't be a problem

I think from memory Rtech charges £250.
Rhyso is cheaper but doesnt have the facility to use a rolling road in South wales hes mobile.

If you drive your 110 remapped to 150bhp and a standard 150 bhp golf yours will be quicker as the torque will be alot more from my understanding.

Definatley worth getting remapped even if the car cost you £500 but be prepared to change the clutch if its not fairly new and maybe other parts as a remap doesnt cause damage it highlights whats already worn if that makes sence.

Arrhh man, I went to Got boost in Brigdend and he couldnt help me either as the ecu had to come out.
I would keep trying to call Rtech as he will be able to do it but be warned depending on the condition of the car ie turbo, clutch etc you are taking a risk as always with any other car.

Hes based in Leicester but how can you moan you drive a DIESEL lol Iv been up there in my 1.8t petrol 3 times from South wales.

That's my only other issue. The clutch feels tight, turbo seems good but it has covered 143k and the gearbox is a bit notchy, saying that it's got pretty much fsh and nearly all main dealer and 20k left on the cam belt so I'm not that worried. I'm not after 0-60 times nor racing novas from the lights but some more overtaking grunt would be nice for the roads I drive on so the clutch shouldn't get too much of a hammering.

Sadly as yours is an ECU out jobby I can't help you out

Thanks anyway.

Fair enough mate, Leave the injectors and other mods in that case.
Phone Rtech and get yourself up there you wont regret it. Take some hobnobs too as they love em

£250 was right, just spoke to them. Better see about getting it booked in then.
