I'm 44 years old so have been around long enough to see fads come and go.
Tattoos like everything else come in and out of fashion; you see a guy who had his done in the 80s or before and they look really dated and lame.
So what happens now? The next batch of youngsters coming up will look at their older siblings or even parents and their fashion will go in the opposite direction as each generation wants to stamp it's own identity, the styles of tattoo will change fashion or they may go out of fashion altogether - and you're stuck with whatever you've got if you're heavily tattooed.
Once your t-shirt has gone out of fashion you can use it to clean your windows, once your skin has gone out of fashion what are you going to do then?
The body piercing thing of a few years ago has died off big time. You can remove an earring from your arse or wherever and it won't leave too much of a mark once you get bored of it, you can't remove a tattoo from your arse quite so easily.
When you start seeing loads of middle aged people latch on to a fashion you know it's on borrowed time...

you only live once but its personal prefference, ive got alot of tattoos and dont regret any of them, ive got massive holes in my ears dont regret that.

Id rather live to regret doing somehting than look back and 'wish' i had done that.

but tattoos are tattoos you like um or you dont, people who do like them with always say why they are good etc blah blah and people who dont like them will always say you ruined your body etc etc

my body is f**ked in that case

If you listened to everyone's opinions on how you should live your life per their experiences you'd have a very meagre existence IMO

Im, sorry but i dont agree with this at all. Those that really put thought into their tattoos arent following a fashion. You see people with all different things from all ages. Japanese styled tattood have been around for a very long time. Im guessing you have none and maybe dont realise that not all tattoos are from a book and certainly they arent dated. If you have children then i am sorry to inform you that amongst them you will be known as the boring dad.

It's quite interesting to see different people's views on the topic, if you go to like rock festivals, then obviously it's the norm. Most people outside of the festivals look really judgmental.

Dunno about that, I go to rock gigs quite regularly and have been going to Download for a few years now, and tbh most people there look like regular everyday people you see on the street. Sure you get a few more crazy looking people but they are definitely a small minority

saying that though I did see a guy this year with the charming slogan 'Anal rape for Satan you thingy' written accross the back of his t-shirt

So many people have had thoughtless designs inked on their bodies in line with current trends.
"Body art" looks good but takes years and costs ££££££, most folks go for easy instant ink and street cred which looks just like how much it costs.
A good sleeve or complex back piece is beyond most tattooists, hence the good artists have a long waiting list and charge accordingly, some are booked for years or not taking on new clients.

I love nice body art, unfortunately I cant have anything except piercing or the like

The other half is lining up a sleeve, so I spose im for heavily tattooed women then
I simply think you have to research your artist well, take a long time on designing your tattoo and dont be in a rush as life changes pretty quickly and may be affected by rash decisions.

& now I dislike you for going Download this year. Please tell me you didn't see Tenacious D?! That would do it for me XD

I met my tattooist on deviant art. And she only lives around the corner from my mum-in-law. WIN.

Chicks with ink are definitely better I think

Also, winston churchill's mum had tattoos!?
