Men's views on heavily tattooed women?

Out of curiosity, what are your guys views, on heavily tattooed women?

I was having a conversation with my nan the other day about my tattoos. I have two half sleeves (one is currently in the process of being completed & shall eventually continue this tattoo down to my wrist. The conversation went something along the lines of;

Nan; 'What about when you're 90 and your tattoos are all wrinkly and your skin is sagging?'

Me; 'If I'm rocking tattoos now, I'll rock them when I'm 90 & I'll rock them when I'm dead & gone'

Nan; 'Well, what about now you've got a baby on the way, you are going to stop with the tattoos?'

Me; 'If I was to not get anymore tattoos, I wouldn't feel like me, I'm who I am because of my tattoos, they represent who I am as a person'

After that nan didn't know what to say & she merely went on to ask if she could at least try to rub one of my tattoos off with a scouring pad. I don't think she's fully grasped the fact that they're there for life. 


I mean, no end of people are heavily tattooed nowadays, and I'm fairly certain that, while it's normal to see old people with no tattoos, or at least with very little tattoos, in about 20 years time, seeing old people with tattoos will be exactly the same. No one would bat an eyelid.

So, while it's deemed acceptable for men to be heavily tattooed, do you think it's acceptable, in today's society for women to be heavily tattooed too?

Well. All depends on the woman and what the tattoos are.  Big biker chick with skulls v girl next door with a butterfly, etcc

If they're anything like Tulisa jade, then no.

Long as its done tastefully then don't see why not.

I'm not a fan of tattoos but can understand why people have them done. Eg remembering family members etc

Not a fan of people who get a tatto because they think it looks good or makes them look cool

I said recently to the better half that it seems more wimmins are getting sleeves (or half sleeves) done nowadays, I have tattoo's so im open minded about it tbh.

Haha! I'm more of the rocker kinda chick, big on my music & old school video games; what would that come under? 


No I see where you're coming from! I can't stand people that get a tattoo because they walked past a tattoo shop on a trip to skegness & wanted a little devil or something and then regret it later on. I think they fail to appreciate them sometimes, I know someone who got a heart on her thigh, only a little one, and she hated it, so instead of getting it removed, she payed twice as much for another tattoo she didn't even want in the first place! Where's the logic in that!?


This one was going to be my last tattoo, but what can I say, I can't say no! And the 'music is life' means everything to me because if it wasn't for music, I wouldn't of met my fella, it helped me get through some really tough times!

I also have a Legend of Zelda sleeve in the process, I have my ribs tattooed, my foot & my wrist. After christmas I'm getting my other foot tattooed and I'm once again, starting a nintendo themed sleeve on my leg.  I think they're all up in the tattoo thread already

My wife has a tramp stamp of a blue bear that she got while pissed and even she can't remember why she chose that, personally i'm not mad keen on them.

Both my sisters-in-law and my wife's cousin have a lot of tattoos. I don't like tattoos myself and would not have them done. And on women they just don't look "right".

I too can see why people like them but it is not for me. I don't "get" it. I understand it is art but if you like a design, have a picture. That way if you get fed up with it, move it or get rid of it. Tattoos tend to stay put.

My opinion only - I have nothing against them, but I think they can and often do look awful.

At least sleeves etc tend to have intricate artwork - "fashionable" tattoos of symbols in a different language are ridiculous as are the now very dated looking tribal-style tattoos. And I have a real dislike for the lower back symbols known as tramp-stamps or slag-tags.
