Is my strut ok

Was doing the timing belt last week and looked over to see this... Now the car is new to me and Ive no idea how the strut is

Yeah Im going to fix it next week. No idea what happened to it haha, think someones not constructed the strut correctly. Easy fix anyway, will heat it up, knock it down and weld a ring plate around it no biggy  . But where does the load from the strut bear onto the turret, is it at this point or below?

on the edge of the metal, right where it's peeled away. You'll probably need a new top mount bush as well, that one looks pretty knackerd
