Help with parcel problem from city link!
« on: 23 August 2012, 19:26 »
Hi, I ordered shed/summerhouse a while back, the item arrived directly from "Waltons". Everything arrived directly from them by their own driver. However the front side with windows and door was damaged. So he requested a new panel and took it away.

Instantly that saturday 18t I got an email apart the replacement part is being process, the driver did say give the company a call and ask for a delivery to be done at the weekend as we both work. I rang up Wednesday 22nd and the guy said the part will arrive tomorrow but by a courier rather than directly! He said if no ones in then you can re-arrange delivery for another day.

Got home today (Thursday 23rd) and there's the usual letter with the drivers name being "by wall", nothing else filled in. Rang city link, after 45min someone picked up and said item is delivered on their system but he will need to check out what is happening and call me back. Gentleman calls me back but due to a poor line hangs up. Never get anymore calls. So I call again and speak to a lady, apparently the instructions for the delivery said "Sender has requested to leave in a safe place if no one in". Apparently this huge panel was left against a brick wall somewhere and the driver has took a photo of the said panel.

I live on a main road in a terrace, there's no rear access (there is an ally but inaccessible) or drive, we both work. So why would you leave a panel outside. I have looked everywhere, I have even spoke to my neighbor who said he has not seen anything. Plus my house is pebble dashed so I have no idea where it could be and have looked around. I was spoken rudely and requested a manager to contact me ASAP and filled in a complaints form online.

I am shocked how mentally retarded a driver is to leave an item that big just outside on a main road. No one even signed for it either when I asked, only that he took a photo of the item on a brick wall. My guess is, it was left outside and someones taken it!

Where do I stand and what can I do, I will be seeking legal advice and looking at taking it to court if need be as I am so shocked at all these mickey mouse antics!

Thanks for any help in advance!

well supposedly delivered, with no signature but a photo, but its not in my possession, will give shed company a call. fudge knows why they used a courier as the things huge, they would of been better off using their own driver. its nice having a 3-sided shed

Going to call Waltons first as I got a meeting at 7.30am  So as soon as I get out I'll call them. I'll also speak to a civil district judge I know to see if I can get an insight encase I do need to raise a money claim.

Forget city link, the 'contract' was with Waltons.
If I was you I'd be persistent and angry with them.
