looking at mk2 golf gtis

what is the better engine code out of them?

im selling my mk4 and someone offered me ared golf gti mk2 but its done 170k with a new engine in it at 70k so i have had a look at the matey matey guide and thats pretty good to use :)

any good mods to do on them?
