Author Topic: MK4 Golf 1.6SR idling high after Throttle Body clean  (Read 1344 times)

It all started when i changed my car battery the car was idling high and hunting then i cleaned the throttle body and then started the car all was fine but soon as i touch the trottle the rpms hunt between 1200 and 1400 - Any ideas?

Could be the tb adjusting. take it on a good drive. see if  that sorts it. if not get a code reader on. could be a number of things making the rough idle

Well as said it al started when the battery went flat and i cleaned the tb. and i have herd the tb needs adjusting and you can do it on vag-com or by unplugging the battery and reconnecting. i tried the battery solution and i thought it worked because it was idling at around 900rpm and soon as i touched the throttle it jumped back to 1200. But it aint hunting/bouncing as much now. I will try vag-com tommorrow.
