But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Jesus!.. He must have reacted quick and dived right....

reminds me of

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CB8QtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWFhE_fuhEpU&ei=Ydk0UKefEeeK0AWa7IDwBQ&usg=AFQjCNFbPnoq-20eBuO7AG1aWZHaP26gYQ

To be fair, that's a curtain side trailer, so the only weight on the car is the contents, which is much lighter.

So his "miraculous" survival was quite expected.

Hence why I only said it reminded me of it.  However, just because it's curtain side doesn't mean it hasn't got something hard and heavy inside it, but it would take a lot to beat a solid truck full of gravel.

Its alright saying its just a curtain sider but when the curtains are shut with a ratchet and then has the retaining straps shut that curtain becomes solid. I have seen tonnes of stuff hanging out of one of those curtains and the curtain stretchea but will not rip or flex. This would be like being hit by a solid trailer if secured properly.

Curtains on uk hgv's are designed to take 2 tonnes of weight without ripping.
