Alloys/suspension
« on: 21 August 2012, 00:33 »
Basically do I keep my 18" with standard suspension ? Which I done particuly like at all. Think it's very noisy and jolty over bulbs.
Or do I try a smaller wheel and poss lower it??
Think lowering it tho will create the same harsh ride as standard set up plus 18" I've got now .

Advice please guys

Imo 18's with standard suspension look crap, just lower it on the 18's.

I understand what your saying mate but if I lower it on the 18"s won't that be the worst of both worlds lol.harsh riding off the 18s and off the lowered suspension ??

Can't really have both unfortunately, although the more expensive springs tend to be as comfortable as the stock ones.

Maybe 17's and lowered as a compromise?

they look like 4x4s on standard suspension.. 18s and lower it. 17s are too small thats what ive got on mine and to get it sitting right it needs to be like a inch off the floorwhich is bad when it comes to potholes

I'm suprised you say you dont like the ride with standard suspension and 18's as I had my old one like that for a while and it was fine. If it is noisy that may be an indication that something is worn. If you like the look of the wheels I say keep them and lower it otherwise it will look like a tractor.

Cheers for the input guys.when I say noisy I dnt mean banging from droplinks I sort of mean the noise from the alloys them selves lol. Hard to explain.
Still don't think lowering is goin to do me any good so looks like I'm sticking to 18s with standard suspension.
