hey all, new member from Northern Ireland. Drive a wee mk3 gti 8 valve. Bought it as a runabout after selling my scooby cause it was crippling me on fuel costs. Never been into the dub scene much, was more Jap and Honda scene but gotta say I really like my mk3 and loving the look of the dub scene. Some gorgeous cars on this forum    Here's some pics of mine, so far.....

Well this certainly won't drink as much fuel, but can you cope with the huge drop in power after having the Scooby!  There are lighter golfs available.

Aye I did miss the scooby at the start but I wasn't getting the use out of it and cost too much to keep. Sold it at just the right time too cause the engine went bang 3 weeks after I sold it

Woh, that's unfortunate for the new owner, did he try and have a moan at you about it?... Could have just been the new owner didn't know how to drive it?

Yeah, it is unfortunate but it was running sweet when i sold it. Had just flew through mot and serviced aswell and i always looked after it well. Na, he didn't contact me, actually found out on a different forum. Sometimes those engines just let go with no warning. Or if you don't treat them properly.

I's say the last bit more likely, just gave the poor thing far too much stick!
