Remapping GTI

Im thinking about getting my Gti remapped but would like too know if it's worth the money, also if I'm gonna get better mpg and extra performance . Also would like too know if they anything else I need too do before !

Any info and advise would be great Thanks peeps

Ah the 2.0 slow.......

Low end and throttle response is improved but dont expect the gains of a turbo car

Dont waste your money, You will be disapointed with the results.

If your after more power sell the 2.0 and buy a 1.8t.
 I have had N/A cars remapped in the past and the results are always
disapointing, The gains just dont out weight the cost unless your going the whole hog i.e throttle bodies.

Im in the same position, I also own a pathetic 2.0 which is up for sale now.

If you can, try and get a drive of a 1.8t. you will be amazed by the difference between the 2 cars.

A standard 1.8t will poo all over a remapped 2.0.

Sell up buy a 1.8t and remap the bugger. Sorted for a few months then get a bank loan out

you will get a noticeable increase in performance, but it won't be huge. All the ones i've done the mpg seems to go up too! i think thats just down to the fact you dont need to be foot-to-the-floor anymore to get the thing going

Most things already covered, on an NA we can sharpen the throttle response, remove flat spots and generally make it feel more alive.  We also raise the rev limiter to give you that extra few hundred RPM at the top end...  If you look at paper gains, it's a disappointing read but in reality to someone who loves their car, it's probably money well spent.

I do have to agree though, if you are going to compare to forced induction tuning then you are likely to be disappointed.

Hi all new here also have the 2.0 gti and would like a bit more punch. Now i know its not going to be fast but not to bothered about it i own a 3.0turbo supra with around 350 bhp so what ever i do will be dissapointing. I am interested in the cost though and it would be nice to be a bit sharper.

Would you just buy a diesel if you have the supra in the back pocket?
