Anonymous plugs....
« on: 19 August 2012, 15:30 »
OK so here's the crack, I've got the mk2 digi engine loom out and the mk3 engine harness in and (mostly) plugged in. However, I have a few plugs that go nowhere, these being the ones I'm most concerned about...

I was quite concerned about the little black plug with a solid red thick wire, and a thick red/black wire, and theres a white plug that comes from the car's internal loom from near the bonnet pull, with a red/yellow wire and another I forget the colour of, in my head the red/yellow wire on that loom is for the fuel pump feed, however when I put the ignition on and press the immo fob (I've left my car's immobiliser alone, it works and I like that my car has one) the fuel pump does prime.

The big problem I've got (which I believe to be caused by one of those anonymous plugs) is when I connect the battery the odo and clock work, but when I put the ignition on I get nothing apart from the odo/clock on the clocks. All I get with the ignition on is the fuel pump prime (if I press the key fob) and a "crack" sound from the engine (ISV?), also it will not turn over, although the starter relay does click.
