This is bullsh!t.

Insurance companies are rotten lazy sh!ts.....the only reason they're writing this motor off is because they know full well, anyone who deals in insurance repairs, generally rip the guts out of every last job they're doing for maximum profit. It's laughable but you can't blame people trying to give the insurance companies some back, by ripping them off for a change!

Surely it would be in the insurance companies favour to come to an agreed repair settlement figure if the owner chooses to get the car fixed themselves.

They can't be f**ked to put in the admin and logistics regarding the repair. It's easier to just write something off, the losses are obviously easier to bare, than if they were to do things the right way!

The whole charade is self perpetuating. Insurance company f**ks the punter, the punter f**ks his car, the repair shop f**ks the insurance company. Repeat.

To demonstrate my point here is a picture of missus' car, that happened to be scraped into outside our gaff. As you can see the damage is minimal. The repair cost through the third parties insurance was £900+...un-f**king-believable.

They even claimed for the side repeater, door moulding, o/s light and o/s tyre. I said to them at the time I was receiving the estimate, that I would be shocked if the insurance company bought into their jargon, as I did not believe they could be so stupid. The man I questioned turned to me and said, "you haven't got a bloody clue, have you"....It sums it up perfectly, unfortunately

right well after waiting a few days i have heard from my insurance (admiral), they have offered me £1150 minus £450 excess? which i was told i wouldnt pay as im not at fault? minus £382.43 remianing insurance costs?why??? and the total they have offered me after there made up deductions is £317.57!!!!
how the fook am i meant to go buy the same car for that money??and they wont give me the option to buy the car back eitha as its one of there policies dues to some bullsh!t government legislation?
eitha way i also just had a call from admirals saulvage company askin if they can pick up the car tomorrow, my answer was a big no you fookin cant until i have a word with my insurance company, so they aint collecting it until i say so.
this has really pissed me off as 1. i wasn't the person who caused the crash! 2. the car shouldnt be written off! 3. my insurance as the other lads insurance are to lazy to deal with getting both cars repaired, instead they have written them off and then make money from saulvaging the parts from third parties. 4. even tho i wasn;t the person who caused the crash i'm being f**ked over!
i have lost my car, not able to buy it back from them, stuck with £300 to buy another "car" and all cause some twit hit me!
getting on the phone to insurance now, will keep you updated with progress.
in the mean time hears a pick of my lovely mk6 gti courtesy car my insurance were nice enough to lend me  lol

mk4 vs mk6

yep thats what i thought aswell! but apparently until the other guys insurance have claimed liability they have to charge me the excess and then i can claim it back after liability has been claimed.so i said i will leave the situation until the other guys insurance contact mine and take it from there.

situation is this, just spoke to my insurance and they went from offering me 1150 to 1750 in 5 minutes! BUT, i have to take £450 excess out of this or wait for liability to be claimed and also have to pay up the rest of my policy because i pay monthly? so leaves me with 915 with excess or 1365 if i wait a few days for liability to be claimed.
but the lovely people at admiral have said when i get a new car they can re-instate my policy and i wouldnt have to pay for it as i would've paid up the rest of the year already.
to me this is just taking the piss and i feel so out done by for not doing anything at all apart from driving my car responsably!
eitha way i look at it i'm being ripped off.and they wonder why people dont bother with insurance!! :lipsrsealed:

I would crash it on purpose and then claim for whiplash. Solves your sh!t offer from the Admiral. You could end up with 3 large....
