Lead plated lorries is not true...just think how heavy that would be!?

If a thief is pretty sure a car is tracked, they won't bother. If it's a case of unsure either way, they'll tend to nick it and park it not far away down a small street. If the police are there a couple of hours later it's tracked.

But lead plated lorries aren't used.

How can they be pretty sure ?, can the measure that eg ?

I do not think it will be quite expensive to have it gps traceable....as far as I read on the internet, I will inquire soon.

If a car has tracker stickers for example, word on the street etc etc.

Hell if someone is clever enough to code car keys from a distance they're probably clever enough to hack into the tracker company's database

Just read this.

I always thought modern VWs were impossible to steal without the keys or a tow truck.
Keyless start is apparently less secure according to some recent reports.

Have the insurance company paid out? (not sure how that works with leasing) but have heard of instances where they initially refused if the keys were not stolen.

Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

Yepp, insurance paid out.
The production week of the new one will start tomorrow and will be delivered next week earliest.
I have bought a bearlock for the DSG that is how far I am willing to go.

That does not really bother them....in doubt they park your vehicle a day or so in a closeby city if the police does not show up they steal it with confidence.

My lease company has fitted track and trace on their expensive cars for years now....only two were ever retraced....so
