MK5 AirBag Code Reader

Hi

I am looking to read airbag warning code(s) from a MK5 (Dash warning on). I was hoping to buy a low cost scanner on ebay (or similar) rather than going to a dealer.

A lot of the ebay scanners state not compatible with MK5, what standard does the gold MK5 work on? Any advice on the chepest scanner (Dont mind if it has to be plugged into a laptop) to read airbag codes? (I dont need it to be too sophiticated to change settings etc, just to read and reset airbag codes).

Just find a nearby member with a vcds cable to help you out...

You need one with can-bus support. A lot of the cheap ones will only scan the engine module which won't clear the airbag. Where are you located?
