Firmware Upgrade

I am sorry as i know this has been covered before but i am trying to find out what firmware i have and i have held the setup button for over a minute and it only comes up on the radio page.

Is there another way to find out which version i am running and also was given this link http://www.my-gti.com/3354/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-to-version-4020-4024-4026-4028
for the upgrade but not sure about the model number of the RNS510 as it was a retro fitted by the previous owner. I want to eventually upgrade the system to 4XXX but am very worried about bricking the system.

Can anyone help? dont mind driving if someone can actually meet me in person to help.
