Last time I broke it was just over 5 years ago, that was the time it broke bad. I've yet to have surgery on anything, when I broke my 5th metacarpal and dislocated my little finger again 5 years ago, all I had was 2 of the biggest female nurses on shift trying to pull it back into place, one pulling on the finger and the other holding me back. Nowadays it seems you get screws, pins and plates for most broken bones. Will try out the exercise you suggested. I do shoulder press at gym, but often cut it short due to pain.
