Rubber seal Cleaning
« on: 13 August 2012, 12:01 »
Hi, another question!

Is there an affective way to clean the rubber window seals of a bit of mold and grime?  The general car wash products i use don't seem to make any difference......

Thanks
Rob

Are you talking about the outside? As if so you could just blast it with your PWer?  :undecided:

I have a small amount of build up on the inside which I find hard to clean

if you have mould and mildew build up the easiest thing to do is to spray it with APC or TFR and agitate with a detail brush and then pressure wash off... should only take a few minutes work

note: don't do this in direct sunlight though as some APC's can dry and mark rubbers

another way of treating window rubbers etc is to use Aerospace 303 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/303-aerospace-protectant/prod_366.html

Also look out for runs down the side of the car whilst doing this with apc and rinse straight away so you don't get any marks.
