Going by my previous experiences with Audis and VWs, if I knew 100% that my warranty would be void and they wouldn't cover ANYTHING, then I think NO I would not remap it. As I said, from previous experiences, as I've had to have a lot of warranty work done on them both. However it is a RISK I am prepared to take, knowing I could argue and fight it unless it was 100% caused by the map, e.g. clutch goes after 20k with no other symptoms (e.g. leaky slave)

But if my warranty was already void then YES WHY NOT

Also I heard that DSG is for girls?

As above ^

Much is down to the relationship you have with your dealer too...regarding what they will cover and potentially turn a blind eye too.

I heard that ACC is electronic shockers just like F1 cars. Is this true?

Reducing my Golf count by the week....

I've had mine mapped from it been a pup,
As said before its all down to the relationship you have with the dealer,
The old girl has been totally reliable in 3 years apart from the dreaded waterpump issue, now on 38k and lost count how many trackdays its been on, i always drop the oil n filter every 5k, she justs get better with age

and my warranty runs out in 3 weeks anyway, been lucky I guess and got a good one

My Passat was remapped at 10,000 miles. It's now on just over 102,000 with no problems other than a popped pwer steering hose last year.

The 307 we had before that was remapped from nearly new. The dealer new and we had no problem with a couple of warranty claims. Even the clutch and DMF when the car was 4 years old and out of warranty. It was a recognised fault that the dealers were supposed to keep quite about.

I've not remapped the red Golf because it hardly gets used. I doubt if it's done 1000miles yet this year, so not worth the bother.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

No but I would not anyway in the first few years as that's when faults will crop up.

Vw are wise to dealers turning a.blind eye so if its power train related claim there telling the.dealer to plug the car into the system and it auto downloading it to them.
I bet there's a lot get rejected in the next few years.
