Removing egg!
« on: 10 August 2012, 20:02 »
I normally just use a car shampoo and what not when I wash my car but last night, not long after washing my MK4 some w@nker decided to egg my car outside my own house. Looked as though it was a drive by throw because it hit the bonnet and went all up the windscreen and roof. I was in a rush for work today and its been on my car most of the day so it's cooked into the paint work and the shell has even caused a few chips in the bonnet when it was washed off

Now the bonnet is all clean you can still see the staining of the splatter from certain angles so I'm guessing it's burnt into the paint with it being stood there for a while. Anything I can use to try and lift this?

Cheers!

Yep leaving it on all day to cook wasn't a good idea tbh, you should be able to get it out with a machine polish but it depends how bad it is. either do it yourself or contact a pro in your area to have a closer look for you.

Same thing happens when people leave bird poo on here car.

Might be a wet sand with 3000 upwards grit then machine.

I would be more worried about the egg shell scratches.

My dads going to have a go at machine polishing it for me otherwise I may have to just get the bonnet sprayed, it has a few stone chips aswell anyway because it's bugging me knowing the stain is there

Feel for you! I nearly died when I got in my car and couldn't see out the windscreen due to egg yoke and what not!
