Has anyone successfully installed android onto a kindle fire. A friend bought one in the states and can't use it to it's full extent due to the copyright issues so wants to install android onto it.

It's Android under all that Amazon crap, be careful as you could f**k it up when rooting it. Do a little research before rooting, a quick Google found this site with a detailed rooting method.

Installing the Play store opens up the device, you can also install different launchers to change the way it works and looks.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Cheers Jay, to be honest, i'm not sure i want the responsibility of actually doing it, but to be fair she can't use it properly anyway so may not be bothered if it doesn't work.
