Remap in Edinburgh or surrounding areas
« on: 10 August 2012, 08:37 »
Hi folks,

I've not long picked up an 07 plate GTI and have been looking into getting a remap in the near future. I have spoken to Autohaus in Edinburgh who quoted £499 exc VAT for the stage 1 Revo map, is this round about the standard price? Are there any other tuning companies in Edinburgh you could recommend? Especially if the have a dyno on-site as I'm keen to see the results on paper before I drive off.

Cheers.

Where are r-tech based? Willing to travel far if the money's right and the reputation is good :)  I've heard of Star Performance before, they're in Kirkcaldy right? Good with VWs? I only got the quote from Autohaus as they are local to me and I'd read good things about them.

So, is £499 a good price for the Revo map? I had it in my head that I would be able to get mapped for around £300-350..? Does it cost more to have turbo'd cars mapped as old Fiesta cost £300 to map.

I believe Nick @ R-Tech would recommend Jim@StarPerformance if you weren't willing to travel far but please don't quote me on that.

Alternatively I would recommend making the journey down to R-Tech in Hinckley. I'm based North of Aberdeen and have taken 2x cars to him now

Totally worth it.
