Best washer jet screen wash...??
« on: 08 August 2012, 23:17 »
Hi peeps

Well this probably seems a bit of a daft question, I can't find any threads on the subject so that's the conclusion I've come to...

Any how, when It comes to filling up the jets I've always gone for cheap supermarket/halfrauds bog off offers...but now I've gone up market I wud like to know if there's a good recommend product out there that will not only clean my screen when required but will repell the rain also...

Maybe Chris at Waxamomo does something?

Ta...

Get that windscreen sealed. A spray of water will remove anything off it.

In between each wash I quick detail the screen and its smear free and beading again.

Carlack windscreen sealer kit is very good.

Try the forum's waxamomo site first though

edit: to remove the sealer excess you just mist some quick detailer on a microfibre and buff the screen. Leaves a nice deep finish and rain flows up the screen

Try my good mate Luke @ SoftTouch valeting in Bournemouth for a test.

I'm not a big fan of the windscreen sealants, i don't like the smears when using the wipers, the side windows yes but not the screen.

VW's own screenwash is the best i've used without doubt! Whatever you put in your screenwash tank make sure it's suitable for fan type jets.

Jimble,

Do you buy it from the dealers? Or is it available somewhere else and how much are we talking...

That link doesn't go to anything on my phone for some reason  but yes you get it from the dealer, it's about £4.99 a bottle but you don't need to use a lot, it goes down to -70 as well so great for the winter! And my favorite part is that it smells like screen wash not lemons or cat piss like some others!

i looked into this a few months back and asked the same question, looking into quantity for value for money, and to be honest, even though i looked at the autoglym and autosmart stuff, i decided to stick with carplan as its the cheapest out of the 3, just as good, and smells just as nice, i still wont touch no brand cheapo or supermarket stuff though
