Quick help. Car starts then dies every turn of the key

Just got in my car to go out but every time I try to start it. It starts then dies strait away. Happens every time. Turn the key and it start for about half a sec and then dies.
What could it be?

1st try the spare key.

2nd get the ignition switch changed.

is the immo chip inside the key? As that sounds like a immo problem.

Thing is when it starts if I pump the gas pedal it runs for about half a sec longer but then still dies.

Ok just took the battery off for about 10 mins as thought I'd give it ago. It's has now started fine but is propper lumper and if I give it a good rev its fine but if I just give it a tiny rev it then drops down half way between 0 and 10 splutters abit then back up to its normal idle point.
Very lumpy tho.

Ok another update as I'm doing this as we speak and I'm on here on my phone. Cars is ok now but running a tiny bit lumpy. I took the battery off as I just read online that you are ment to reset the ecu after you clean the throttle body wich I did last week.
Car now starts fine but as said a tiny bit lumpy.
Thought I would check a few things.
I have noticed that the car runs exactly the same if I unplug the MAF there is no change to the running of the engine at all. Should I notice a diferance in the way it runs when MAF is unplugged?

the car should stall when you take maf or or i think its when you plug it back in

nope just tried it plugged in with engine running then unplugged it wile engine running and no diferance. maybe a tiny diferance but nothing really noticable.

you recon my MAF is gone?
