Round the IOW cycle
« on: 07 August 2012, 23:01 »
Will be doing the IOW cycle with a few friends in a couple of weeks just as a training session on road bikes, and we were wondering if it's best to go clockwise or anticlockwise? We'll be catching the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth, and apparently going anticlockwise get the bigger hills out of the way first so I've heard. Any opinions?

why not do it both ways

The island is what about 70 miles around, so you could easily do that (twice) in a day.

Yeah but we're going easy, not going to push it.

Not really, had planned this well before tour de France. I'm doing it with work colleagues as we're training for triathlons.

And chuff

Chuff I like your thinking, although I'd make it a little longer and go left, left then left again and stop at the pub right outside the box office
