Rubber door wire protectors
« on: 06 August 2012, 20:58 »
Need to install some speakers in the front doors of my 1.4 mk3 but due to not having speakers there as standard or having any electrics in the doors, there are no rubber wire protectors between the door and the body. I've looked on ebay etc but not found any, anyone know if they have a proper name or any simple cheap work-arounds that would protect cabling between the doors and body.
Thanks
Guy

UPDATE

Motorbike fork suspension gaiters make perfect wiring protectors working in conjunction with the existing grommets. Just cut holes to fit each end snuggly.

Ok thanks
yeah it's basic spec, no central locking, electric windows or door speakers so no need for wiring into the doors

Are you sure? Even the Golf match, which is an L, has central locking. Nothing else though.

Positive, I have a 95 3 door 1.4 and my sister has a 95 5 door 1.4 Match and neither have central locking or any kind of electrics in the doors and so lack the rubber wiring protectors.
