First Tattoo
« on: 06 August 2012, 01:36 »
Always been a bit of a girl when it comes to tat's and piercings (Hence the reason i haven't got any  :embarassed:). Any ideas for my first tattoo? Placement, Design, Font? Not really into tribal, More of a Chinese art fan. Wouldn't mind getting my sons name on my but his name is a bit a mouthful.

What was your guys first tattoo's? Got any pictures?

all i would say is make sure its something your going to be happy having on you for the rest of your life ;)

best bet is to sit down and search for stuff you like, so as you said if its chinese art / traditional tattoo art start there and see what you can find, most tattooist can help once you got an idea of what you want

takes me ages to decide what i want and to design it

Upper arm is best place, it is usually hidden and least painful.
And choose something small and not Celtic as that is double lined!
Talk to the tattooist and say you want something quick, under an hour.
My first was just over 2 hours but didnt put me off.

I had my first one done on holiday in Benidorm and regret it now as it dosnt tie in with the rest of my pieces. I'v got both arms, bit in cheat and leg done now.

Be careful it can become addictive.

Go for something big and sore and then if you get more then it won't seem as bad as the first. I got a 4 and half hour piece on my ribs in one go for my first, hurts like hell but so good to see it finished! Although obviously this approach isn't for everyone. haha.

The other posts are right though, make sure it's something that you really like and something that means something to you, ask yourself why you are getting the tattoo? Mine represents my family and reminds me of my grandad who passed away soon before I got it, It also reminds me of how lucky I am to be in the family and place that I am.

Goodluck on your decision to get one or not.
Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

This. You will only regret it after.. My first was "M U F C" that now looks like a massive dragon!

Be careful it can become addictive.

Also this. I now have a cross, a Rose and a Buddha that has been added.

Tattoos look tacky dont bother! they fade after so many years then look like you've been scribbled on by a 5 year old.

Don't go for something small.
Small = scared.

Get something big.
And masculine.
People will see that and think "Holy f**k that bloke's awesome!"
Maybe a huge back piece of a crocodile pouncing out of a tree attacking a goat or some sh!t?
