So is that your next mission then Hurdy?

Mine is already over 260bhp and under 1150kg, so if I get a Polo .:R it will end up being roughly the same weight, but have over 420bhp!!!!

Which would get me into the 11's on a 1/4 mile run.

Ah I miss my old Polo GTI! So Hurdy, is the Polo R definitely coming to the UK? Do you have anymore info on it, like how many being produced, price, when etc??

That thing is EPIC!!! Seriously

Problem is that's the wrc car, the real thing won't be a patch on that

Agreed, and a Polo's a girls car to boot

Oh Yeah!

The Polo .:R has already been confirmed as having the 2.0TSi engine from the MKVI with 227bhp. Front wheel drive unfortunately, but imagine it with just a remap and weighing in at sub 1200kg.

At least you have a fast girls car to make up for it

I know pal, I've been reading your build thread, just thort you might want to change esp if you can make the new one reach 420bhp

Definitely coming to the uk at the end of next year. Prices will be purely speculative at the moment, but I'd reckon on it being over the Golf GTI price, but below the starting price of the Golf .:R, so circa £28-30k.

I could get the power beyond 420bhp, but I wouldn't want to go beyond the Loba L04XX turbo option with water methanol injection. I'm currently debating the options as I reckon the MKVII Golf .:R may well be out by then too. That is penned as possibly having over 290 bhp as standard. Then there is the possibility that there may be a Golf .:RS with the Audi 2.5 ltr engine and a standard 360bhp!

I guess we can all hope and pray for that one

Interesting thanks.

I wouldnt pay 28-30k for a Polo R. After having Polo 6R GTI it was a great fun car and good value at £19k compared to the Golf. However it isn't a patch on the Golf ref handling, ride, being able to get the power down and refinement and the reason why it just isn't worth this type money.

I guess though Hurdy this is all academic as you would probably replace most of the car anyway

You'd think cos it is sporting the R badge it would have 4WD ?
Is it because it would put it in a different class in the Rallies, surely the one in the video has 4WD ? Going by the way it effortlesly changes direction when it lands ?
