Hiring a lens for Olympics?

Got tickets to the Paralympics in september and want to hire a lens which I can zoom in on as most likely won't have the best seats lol

Was thinking something like a 50-200 or 70-300 etc etc so that I don't keep on having to hange lenses.

Obviously will be taking pics of the stadiums and bits and bobs around the park?

Found this one but not sure how good a 300 zoom would be?

Get a monopod as well. Especially as that doesn't look light!!!!

firstly you should have a stadium plan so you can get an ideal of where you'll be sitting with your ticket number.

Secondly what's the event and where / when is it being held e.g. open air stadium in day should have plently of natural light vs the O2 (North Greenwich arena) which will be artificially lit.

Personally if i was going to hire a lens for the Olympics i'd go with a quality one like this;

I wouldn't bother with the 70-300 as f/5.6 is pretty slow and odds are you're not going to have the best light.

Haven't got the tickets yet, so when I get them will have a look at the seats

i agree with ridg, pay a bit more and get a lens with a faster aperture

I had a play with the £1800 Canon 70-300mm instore and Jesus is good    Needless to say i wont be getting one tho

Was looking at the one ridg posted. Don't mind about price was just wondering if 200 would be enough?

If you take a look at the link i posted, you'll see there's very little difference between 200 and 300 and certainly not enough to warrant the difference in quality between the two lenses.
