Broken wires to a mystery object.

Does anybody know what this part is and what affect the broken wire will have?

It's the warm-up regulator, will probably be a bit hesitant/gutless/stall etc etc until the engine is fully warm. Might be a bit more difficult to start from cold also.


You got any pics of your dad's split ?

I'll second that!

Try unplugging it and see if you notice a difference, then connect it back up and see if there is a noticable difference on the cold starts!

Thought thats what it was. Ok next question which wires shoulb be connected together? the plug seems to have yellow wires but one is connected to a brown wire and the Yellow/Black one looks as if it should be connected to the red wire, is this right?

looks like someone has fitted a different plug oin the end at some point cos i swear they are meant to be blue......... :huh:

It's the cold start that's the blue plug :)

The plug is white or brownish white on mine (prob just dirty)

white/red goes to the top

brown goes to the bottom! (i think it's brown anyway could be green, it's hard to tell under artificial lights and a dirty engine)

Thanks for that. Will wire it back up and see if it starts ok on petrol. Usually i start on LPG but i have noticed it doesent like to start on petrol on a cold morning. Maybe this is the reason.
