Before you play with the engine I would sort out the handling first. You do want to stay on track right?

First would be to strip everything! Unless you plan to drive it to track?

Rollcage
Updated anti roll bars
Fall polly bush kit
Good expensive coilovers!
4 pot front brakes or very good track pad and disk set up
Something like toyo R888 Tyres or fall slicks
And most important a LSD!

After all that you will find you won't need a turbo
A supercharger would be 1000x better for track in a fwd car!
Turbo it and you might just ruin the drivability

Until the headgasket or gearbox let go.

To me a vr6 is meant to be a fast cruiser so id keep it just for that. Im sure the upgrades would make it better but you will still have a front wheel drive heavy nosed car and driving something nice with a load spent on it round a track always rides in the back of my mind, just my opinion though
