are mk4 golf gti`s any good at towing caravans?
i`ve got the 1.8t 180 bhp if that makes any differance!

It'll pull a caravan.. Might drink a bit of fuel though.

However, there are some things to consider:

How heavy a caravan are you after, you can't just tow anything.

When did you obtain your driving license? If it was after 1997 you'll need a better one.

i`m hanging my head in shame as i write this!
going to work in france.need something to live in for a bit.
passed my test in 91! so should be ok on that front!
prob just a 2 berth.nothing too big.
i will smash it to bits when i`m done with it :evil:

I suppose it depends on how long you are over there for.. Does your golf already have towing gear and electrics, because there's another expense to consider.

i`m there for about 8 weeks!
no hasn`t got a tow bar fitted.my mate has got one i can have.
can fit it myself.was gonna get a camper,but their a bit pricey!

Yeah I just got a camper, not cheap, and for a run to France you don't want to stoop too low on budget or you might not even make it there.  :grin:

Well if you've got access to free towing gear then maybe being a temporary **** is the cheapest move, despite being at the cost of every other motorist behind you!  :grin:
