r32's - talk to me
« on: 30 July 2012, 20:35 »

Well after one of my mates has bought one of these I can simply say I want one  Although I am not a fan of the MK4 in most other forms I am really starting to like these alot. I'm currently in the market for a newer car now  this is going to sound bad ( don't all shot me) but I have been looking to get a mitsti evo 7/8 for a while now and haven't yet found the one I was after so this has got me thinking. Now this will be a car for fun as I will be keeping the mk3 valver for work duties

R32 summary

Front-Engined
Naturally Aspirated
3.2 Litres
Horizontally
6 Cylinders
240 BHP
236 Nm Torque
153 MPH Top Speed
0 to 62 in 6.6 Seconds
24 MPG
All Wheel Drive
leather seats
pulls well and can be made very fast

evo 7/8 summary

Front-Engined
Turbo
2 Litres
Inline
4 Cylinders
300 BHP - 400 BHP
305 Nm Torque
160 MPH - limited
All Wheel Drive - Permanent
4 doors - got kids so could be handy

Now I like both my vag metal and Japanese metal and I attend both jap shows and vag shows infact i'm a petrol head and love all cars but the fact is i have a desire to own either of these cars and can't make my damn mind up :( i need info on the r32's what to look out for  what can go wrong most of all etc any info welcome as i'd like to view a few soon. I would ask my mate but tbh he dosn't hardly know anything about them yet it's his first golf and i'm the reason he's rolling in one  I am clued up about evo's my brother in law has owned one for 8 years now so i can find out pretty much anything about them.

Insurance, fuel and running costs are not an issue tbh I have also considered these cars seat leon cupra R, Honda s2000, integra type R DC5, porsche boxster s 3.2, Bmw M3 e46 and possibly nissan 350z

Ive owned a evo 7 and 8 and it was a dog where do i start big end bearings, head gasket failure, complete gearbox failure, AYC problems, other sensor problems, miss-firing the list goes on, ive also owned a MK4 R32, yes it suffered a few problems but the repair bill was no way as big as the Mitsubishi
