Mrs Kempie needs the help of the lovely MK3 guys!

Hello guys!

Kempie's struggling to get his suspension to the right level, it would seem that his top coil over (excuse me for being thick, but I'm not a car person) has seized over and he can't lower it to the right height he needs to level out the car.

We've left it in a bucket of cheap happy shopper cola overnight, and all it's done is make it super shiny, but it wont budge. So, he's now sulking on the xbox..

If anyone has any ideas, it'd be greatly appreciated! He's tried hitting it with a mallet & up until yesterday what I thought was a tent peg.. (the other jack type device, doodad) and it still isn't budging, he's mate from down the road came up with all his tools and they still couldn't do anything to make it budge.

Does anyone have any idea's for getting a seized coil over to budge?

Soak it in wd40, usually does the job

Any tips for if it doesn't? He's had it on for 2 years and nothing has been done to it, so would that be why it's seized up?

Is it the locking rings that are siezed or the whole strut, if its the rings then your just going to have to be patient and soak them in wd40 and then keep gently tapping them with a chunk of wood and a hammer.

Yeah it's the locking rings Gav, my mum's just taken control of the situation and drenched them in wd40, so hopefully something will happen soon, it wouldn't be too much of a problem, but he needs the car for work. Looks like he's getting the bus tomorrow!

Does he know your using his profile?  . Good work tho yh as said before lots of WD40 and patients will do it, just dont f*ck up the threads on the coilovers coz then your proper f*cked

if wd40 doesnt work. fire! heat it up a bit and they should expand slightly.

mine on my old c2 were seized bad. soaked them everyday in some stuff better than wd40 for a week and then hit with a hammer and block of wood. this worked

It's not looking good, i think it's a case of 'if anyone wants a mk3 that needs repairing, you're welcome to her'

I know he wants an estate, and Lola isn't being too cooperative at the moment.

Just sorted the tracking with the help of a fella down the road - still couldn't move the locking ring, but I don't think that's been a problem. Because if he hasn't touched it in two years, the tyres would've been f*cked long before, right?
