I imagine you need to replace the speaker and tweeter together then?

I just replaced the lower speaker. Make sure you get one that that's quite bassy though

You would prob need to rivet them on because I would think a bolt mite get in the way of the window

Bolts are absolutely fine and the kit usually comes with bolts.
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

This is the ebay kit I have used on my gti, I have replaced both sides using kits
from this supplier and find them really good,
They will email you a video to show how to fit it aswell, however its not hard.

Bought and installed the kit from the guy you linked above.

Was really hard getting the last cable over the cam, managed it though.  Both sides slide, but it's seriously tough to get them sliding, is that normal?

Feels like the motor will br doing a hell of a job to get them to move  :undecided:

The last cable is tough, It will only go over on the correct slide,
And yes they are quite tough to slide up and down due to the tension,
Its fine when fitted though.  I have used 2 kits of him now and both have been great

Cheers mate.  Need the weather to be good so that I can fit it back into the car.

All being well might consider doing the drivers side as a precautionary measure.

All sorted.  Put it back together earlier and it works really well!  Makes a weird noise when it's going down though, sounds like the metal cable flexing about, works fine though
