Overboosting

On my way home today with the aircon on I was getting a peak boost 1,5 bar according to the boost gauge, is anybody else running higher boost in this weather? Ko3 ARZ

Hello mate I'm good thanks and you? Ya mapped possibly warmer air is thinner so maybe that's why. Just wandering if other people have noticed it

im good.It should go better in the cold. Mine more active in this heat.  Maybe r-tech developed there map on a hot day.  i dont know.Enjoy the weather.

IAT effect on requested boost..... The map is KFTARX - IAT correction for maximum specified load
 
Your ecu will adjust the specified load limit depending on IATs. As IAT's go up, the ecu brings the max boost up a bit so that the driver can't tell that the car is slow in hot weather. It can do this because the stock boost curve is relatively conservative, and there is plenty of headroom. Also, at some point, if IATs go high enough, max specified load is pulled to prevent knock.

Depending on the time of year when i mapped the car (if it was a custom map) hot summers day I will flat line the KFTARX to 1 no corrections) as i set the upper boost limit via other maps, if I am customer tuning in cold weather I will custom adjust the KFTARX map to take in to account the the summer months.

cool good thinking.Does your map work better with this fuel (shell v-power). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQghB4asSnI .I can feel it going better, with this fuel. Also my car only works well with ngk platinum/ instant all out power, ill give a racing bike a run for its money off the lights. as long as they dont know what my plan is.

Only if your car was mapped with it in the tank

It gives you better timing pull. I had some logs around somewhere with the difference but I can't find them

All turbo car should run on vpower / super unleaded stock or remapped.  We wont map them with cheap 95 fuel.

Thanks nick. You mapped it in September last year wasnt too hot just a bit over cast. I have also upgraded to a 3" turbo back system is there gains to be had if the map was tweaked with the new mod?
