should I higher my car :-/

can't believe I'm even saying this but basically iv put my coilovers all the way to the bottom at the front and a wee bit higher at the back. the problem iv found is even on a fresh new road I'm hitting the front of my exhaust under the bonnet as its a 1.4 that bit of the exhaust sticks out lower than any part of my car. so I'm pretty worried that I'm going to knock that bit off or put a hole in it. some guy told me my car can explode if it just sparked from hitting the ground... that can't be true can it lol... anyways I'm sure some of you have the same issue if so do you still drive with coilovers as low as they can go?

dunno about explode  but if you hit hard enough to create sparks on the inside of the exhaust and they ignited that close to the block I doubt it would end well

IMO if a car is impractical to drive you don't even need to ask the question. It may look cool standing still but how cool does it look driving along at 20mph scraping on every bit of uneven road surface (which is around 99% of Uk roads)

All depends what your after - lowering a car to drive better is one thing, slamming it to the ground to look cool has big issues for me because it just takes away the fun in using the car.

Mind you I am 40 and my skateboarding days are over and thats what a slammed car feels like, in between the scrapes and the various parts left behind on the speed bumps

No don't raise it .... I had this exact prob when running ats cups. I have now fitted my borbets which are 16's and it never catches which tells me that you only need another  half an inch ish of clearance and your downpipe won't hit the floor . I plan to remove my helper springs which will lower me another inch(ish) so to get round the downpipe issue I have brought some ice hockey pucks (cost £10) off eBay and had 20 mm holes drilled through the middle , the plan is to fit them underneath the engine mounts to raise the engine 1" ....this will then let me go lower without the catching issue. It will work for you too  but if you remove your helpers you may start to catch again .....make sense? There's a guide on here for hokey pucks somewhere

yeah makes sense, i do really like my ATS cups so the puck idea sounds good. ill look in to this guid and see if its somethig i can do myself! Thanks for the tip.

Mate itll be easy, engine mounts are an allen bolt and a 16mm nut i think, you will need longer bolts though when its done .... I was just gonna remove one and take ut to the bolt shop and get 3 an inch longer

Change the engine for one thats has a nicer placed exhaust
