« on: 23 July 2012, 23:55 »
Has anyone got any 60/40 or 40/40 drops on a mk3 with 14" rims ?

Or a 60 drop , want to just dou springs at the moment but want to make it look reasonable ,

Many thanks

14's are going to look lost on a mk3 and you'll want it a lot lower than 40mm to compensate for this.

Mine has 40mm drop springs in an 8v gti and there's very little difference. The springs would also do a vr6 with the heavier engine so the drop might be more noticeable.

I assume yours is a 1.6 or similar with wearing 14s. Probably a light engine also

mine is dropped 40mm and it is very noticeable when next to a standard mk3, but then again its also very noticeable when next to one with 60mm but in the opposite way (if that makes sense)

imo 40mm is the ideal drop for a practical daily driver

I've had mine on both 15s and 16s, but with the appropriate tyre sizes so the ride height was exactly the same. on 14s with low profiles it would probably be more than enough to keep it practical, but as said the 14s may look a little lost

I have a mate who has his mk3 standard ride height on 14 inch steels and they do look pretty small but again he has the appropriate tyre size so it looks a bit like a tractor

Yea they do look lost but can't afford any new wheels right now ,  it's a 1.8 SE . So a 60/40 or 60/60 would be ideal then.
