Metalic Specs
« on: 23 July 2012, 14:32 »
I am having problems with my Monza wheels on my Mk6 gti.
there seems to be metalic specs on the face and inside the wheel and i dont know whats causing them or how to prevent them.

I am currently using PB to seal the wheels and using Bilt Hamber sufex HD to clean them!

Can anyone give me any advice?

Iron x or Bilt hamber auto wheel will remove the build up but I would have the brake pads and disc`s checked out as you shouldn’t be getting a constant build up of metallic particles on your wheels.

Plus the PB shud make cleaning easier, I use it and clean my wheels every week and I haven't found the same issue...

How often to you clean them and how many coats of PB have you applied?

i wash them once a week and have about three coats of PB on them. i am going to order some iron x and will use that with a clay bar to see if i can get them off.

Will put a few pics up if it doesnt solve the problem as the wheel are already caked in dirt in one day

3 coats shud suffice, after the iron x and clay bar put a few more coats of PB...

Are be very surprised if the iron x don't sort it, good luck pal....
