Having the car on holiday IS PART OF THE HOLIDAY!  how often do you get open roads, no time pressures to be somewhere.  You can just DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!

61 Plate GTD 5dr, Shadow Blue, 18" Charleston's, Flat Tyre Indicator, Cruise Control, Bi-xenon (With Dynamic Curve), Storage Pack, Winter Pack and RCD 510.

+1, I usually have one holiday a year which involves the GTI, get to use it properly rather than just the every day school run, shopping etc..
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

I couldn't agree more, but I've been fortunate enough to travel to some far flung places on my holidays over the past few years that require a lengthy flight to get there. The downside is I have to leave the car at home.

Might be going to Scotland later this year for a week or two. If so, I won't be leaving the car at home; can't pass by the opportunity of driving on scenic open roads with minimal traffic and breathtaking views.
