Slight price difference to this one, I take it this one is the original one??

Is the pipercross one actually carbon or is it some cheap alternative plastic??

yeah

Eh?
Do you mean can you put a standard GTI engine cover on an Ed35 and run a standard GTI type inlet?

If so...no. You can't.
The Mk5/Ed35/R engines have the MAF at the back of the engine...Mk6 GTIs have it attached to the inlet/airbox.

Doh! Looks like I'll have to wait for Wigit to pave the way! I want to do some under the hood tweaks but don't like the idea of loosing the engine cover.

You should be able to use a replacement engine cover for any K04 Mk5/Mk6 R, so should be able to buy a carbon cover if you want the bling.

For an inlet, and Mk5 K04 inlet kit should work. Ed30 for sure...probably LCR or S3 too I'd have thought.

Am I right in thinking that the ed35 is the same engine as the ed30?
